Autumn Time

Autumn Time

Fall is my favorite time of year. I love to bake and always start baking my favorite pies. Getting ready for the holidays to start is also exciting for me.

I love the crispness in the air. The campfires and the walks in the woods. I feel I can write better, cook better, sing better and look better in the fall. Being a redhead might have something to do with it. The fall colors seem to work best in my wardrobe.

Festivals come every weekend and there is always so much to do. State Parks are a great way to relax and enjoy the fall foliage. The wildlife is spectacular and active around this time as well. We saw wild turkey on the golf course and deer too. The pioneer days festival made it an interesting learning experience. Blue Grass music could be heard no matter where you were on the grounds. The smell of kettle corn and cotton candy breezed past our noses.

Wherever you go this fall, I hope you stop to enjoy the wonder of nature all around us. It's the most beautiful time of year. A time of change and transition that puts a hop in your step as the  season unfolds. Enjoy this fall.

L.S. HAYDEN TO BE PUBLISHED

L.S. HAYDEN TO BE PUBLISHED

Be expecting a new devotional due to be published in the September/October issue of Devozine. A Christian Youth devotional magazine that is put out by The Upper Room. L. S. Hayden is a new author on the scene and has been working diligently towards obtaining her goals to be published. She is a member of the Society of Children's Book Writers, the Spirit Lead Writer's Group out of Nashville and the Memphis Writer's Group. She also particpates in an online crique group and an online children's picturebook group.  Londa continues to work on tweaking current manuscripts of several picturebooks.  She has one YA (Young Adult) novel in the works as well.

"Writer's put so much time and effort into their work.  I have spent nearly three years now working on this current novel. I am just now at the point of starting the submissions process," says Londa.

Most people do not realize it takes two to three years even after acceptance for a picturebook to actually be published and on the shelves.  Even for a picturebook that has a 1000 words or less - there is a lot of work that goes into developing the plot and rewriting until you feel it is even close to submitting. Once it is accepted, the editor will no doubt want to make changes and it will be rewritten and tweaked further.
Londa hopes to have a picturebook accepted this year.
